No matter what, Iron Dome is an expensive tool designed for anti missle defence. Missiles are also expensive so both sides don’t have unlimited numbers of these.
Drones however are just so cheap. Also likely that smaller plastic drones would be impossible for the dome to detect in the first place, so absolutely they will need non kinetic automatic systems working to destroy smaller surveillance drones.
