Well, the left can go to hell. Sorry about the size of this article from 1857, published in The Argus. It recounts the Black Thursday bushfires of 1851, which were unprecedented in recorded Australian history, as most of the state of Victoria was ablaze. This backs up the notes in Captain Cook's journal, which records him seeing 3-4 different out of control bush fires up the Eastern coastline. He wrote a comment about the land 'not being much good' because of the enormous blazes. Anyway, I put this here because our hallowed BOM has removed historical temperature data in order to make their hockey stick model work. The model can't work with historical temperature highs, and of course, labor in government will reward them for removing historic highs so as to make climate change modeling a reality.
