The great thing about Dividend Reinvestment for the company is when they are short of cash, they can issue more shares and keep the money that would have been used for the dividend. When the company is flush with cash, they buy the shares on market to distribute in the Dividend Reinvestment.
So FMG was issuing more shares a few years ago. For the past couple of years, they have been buying the shares on market.
Win, win. All companies should do it.
