Personally, I do not like DRPs and indeed, do not participate in them even when available.
The reason being that it results in multiple lots of small purchases, leading to extra and unnecessary paperwork and a headache when trying to calculate capital gains.
Much simpler to take the dividend and choose when to buy more shares if necessary.
