A SMSF is exactly that. You manage it and decide the strategy. It is a requirement to provide an investment strategy, annually and have trustee meeting minutes. I invest in one sector with heavy weightings to a few shares. Always have. I answer to members of the fund, of which there are two.
Not saying it’s for everyone. I’m sure there are plenty who have lost plenty and should have stayed with managed funds.
Personally, having a SMSF for 27 years has been the difference between retiring early with a very healthy income and working well into my 60’s with a modest income.
A SMSF is exactly that. You manage it and decide the strategy....
