for over 50 years music festivals and drugs, including alcohol, have been in the mix. this is not and has never been unexpected. Police actions, including sniffer dogs and even strip searches, have not prevented drug use at any music venues. clearly prohibition has not worked.

today there are reports that 2 men in their 20s have died at a music festival in Western Sydney, and 9 people have been evacuated to hospital, with others treated at the venue by paramedics.
at Sydney Olympic Park another man was being treated by paramedics and was transferred to hospital where he also died.
a 21-year-old man was treated at a hotel on George Street in Chippendale, before he was transported to hospital where he also died.
Detective Superintendent Simon Glasser said police were waiting for autopsy reports before concluding how the men died, and would not confirm they were drug overdoses.
