Being a Socialist Labour State Government committed to economic vandalism doesn’t necessitate taking your innate incompetence and corruption to such a criminally negligent level directly causing avoidable deaths amongst your population.
The WA State Govt is equally committed to economic vandalism, yet they have been effectively COVIC-free for the last 4 months without community transmission.
I have a particular disregard for Mark McGowan’s administration, having invested in a WA O&G company who successfully and safely conducted a hydraulic fracture stimulation program around 7 years ago in the middle of nowhere in the Canning Basin. Instead of fuelling the state for a generation with natural gas, the clean alternative to coal power, such projects have become stranded assets since McGowan took over and announced a public inquiry into fracking, despite about 17 previous inquiries all demonstrating it was a safe practice if properly regulated. It took over 6m from his election in March 17 to get going, then another 12m before in Sep 18 the enquiry concluded, wait for it, that fracking was safe if properly regulated. Although the WA Govt sat on it and it wasn’t made public for two months until Nov 18. So fracking near metropolitan and agricultural aquifers and protected National Parks like The Kimberley was still banned, but O&G companies in specific existing exploration licences were good to go in 2019, right? Wrong. The WA Govt still haven’t commenced the legislation process to fulfil the commitment of their own Inquiry and have recently confirmed they have no intention of getting round to it until after they are re-elected in March 2021.
That’s contemptible and just one example of Labour’s socialist ideology, misguided pandering to the lunatic green fringe and love of bloated bureaucracy, but the result is only a weaker WA economy and some investors still waiting for a multi-bagger.
But Mark McGowan isn’t killing his population through criminal negligence or threatening the health and security of the nation. That takes a special brew of administrative incompetence, institutionalised corruption and utter breakdown of The Chain of Command that only “I’m Not Clear” Daniel Andrews could concoct.
