Misty (and Bowral too I recall)
You are both possibly taking me too literally with my christianity/druidism example.
I'm not advocating druidism nor criticising christianity.
Lets rope in a few more religions so there is little scope for marginalisatiton ... islam, hindu, judaism, buddhism ... that should do.
There may or may not be one God. Or it might be that different religions express possibly the one God (or sprituality) in different forms and manifestations.
So back to the druids ... if they live their lives according to the beliefs I posted at the start of this thread surely there wouldn't be any purchase of opinion from folk of the other religions I mention above that druids lived bad/evil lives because they didn't worship or respect or even acknowledge existence of another God or manifestation/form of a God (or spirituality)?
It would seem very wrong to me that say Christianity or Islam would condemn others of different faith/beliefs to some form of suffering, denial or damnation for being a non believer or an infidel etc.
I guess what I am realising is that I believe there is an over-riding decency and thoughtfulness of behaviour and actions toward humanity and nature that should transcend any particular religion or belief system.
The druid belief system seems quite a reasonable one to me (with the caveat of not having delved into it until yesterday). Actions of a few arising from interpretations of some modern religions appears to clash terribly with "over-riding decency and thoughtfulness of behaviour and actions to humanity and nature".
