A cut and paste from todays CDU announcement:
Drill Hole LMRC754 (interval at 53m)
The dominant mineral of this sample is drysdallite, a
rare molybdenum selenide mineral, first identified in
an oxidised uranium deposit in Zambia in 1973
(Kapijimpanga uranium deposit, 16 km southeast of
Solwezi, Northwestern Province, Zambia)
Inclusions within drysdallite include uranium and tellurium
carbonate compounds. Gold in this sample is
found as small inclusions and as liberated grains.
Drysdallite, being a sulphide mineral, potentially provides
an avenue for recovery of contained minerals
using flotation.
The discovery of drysdallite, which prior to being
identified at Rocklands appears to only occur in one
other location in the world, is considered to hold potential
significance and may form an important clue
in the quest to understand the unique suite of minerals
evident at Wilgar.
