What CDU have done (as I understand the slightly opaque Table 1 description) is take magnetic susceptibility measurements on all of their core and RC chips on-site (this is standard practice on most base metal drilling programs), but using three different types of mag susc meter (not standard practice). Then selected samples were sent to a lab for the DTR analysis, which provides a quantitative measure of physically how much magnetite is recoverable from the rock. The DTR results were then plotted against the mag susc results for those selected samples, and a linear regression was defined that allows CDU to estimate magnetite content from mag susc readings.

Anyway, that is how I understand it.
