Whilst in HK, the ferry journey( of about one hour ) to Macau is worth doing. Once in Macau, the old town -including the ruins of the Church of St Paul and so many other Portuguese churches and civic buildings - is worth seeing.

As to HK, a visit to Shek O on the other side of HK Island is also worth it. Rolling surf on the beach there and quite a world away from Central HK.

Ferry rides to the outlying islands are all about too.
