I sure do Shelby; was training and saving up for The Great Australian Camel Race in 1988, sponsored by the late Arthur Earle, which I think still holds the record for Longest Endurance Event ( maybe just soft-footed, haven't checked Alaskan records). Everything went to shite in '87, so had to head into desert and catch my own camel. Picked the biggest, Big Mistake, much further to fall when he (constantly) bucked you off ! Crikeys those things are tall.

Long story short, turned out the Bigfella would jog behind me all day and night, so finished the 3000km+ course in okay time. The SAS boys had similar probs with their camels and unsurprisingly outran me to score second (man those boys were impressive, would run 90-120km in a day fuelled by army ration packs then get up and do it again...Respect...

Was a long time ago but would be so jazzed if any other DT'ers were involved with that, whether competitor or support. Was an unforgettable 3months
