In short, I have a sister caught up in a multi-level marketing scheme, basically a pyramid scheme but packaged with some dud product I think to perhaps legalise it. I believe she’s going to lose the money she has invested in the scheme and more, but given that she is actually a very good salesperson with a large network of friends and associates, I was wondering if there are some rules or guidance around actually getting a return on these things or breaking even.
In the same way that only small % of traders, spec stock investors, gamblers and golf professionals are consistently profitable whilst most lose, it may be that in the network marketing game there are some rules or approaches where if played smartly it’s possible to get a return.
I'm thinking that working positively with her might be more successful than trying to talk her out of her hopes and dreams of riches as she’s completely absorbed in it. (Bit like trying to argue against someone who's fallen in love with a losing spec stock and is down heavily but tells you all the great fundamentals of it)
Klue thought you might be a guy that knows about these things. I’d appreciate any thoughts.
