I like Caloundra too. When I returned to Australia in July last I bought a car and drove right around starting in Brisbane, heading north, and ending up in the Gold Coast five months later. There are many great places to visit and live. We spent a week in Caloundra in a 2 bedroom apartment in Kings Beach, which was only $99 per night (Casablanca). There are so many holiday apartments on the beach north and south of Brisbane that are reasonably priced if you shop around @mirren.
