dual listings question.....help?

Hi All,

Something that i've always wanted to know about companies that are listed here and overseas.....

For Example. When Brambles (BIL) was dropping recently, the price of the share here was always compared to the corresponding share price in the UK.

Another example is LOOK and LOK.

So in order for these share prices to be compared, does that mean that BIL here and BRambles listed in the UK, both have the same amount of shares on issue?
