The thing is, there is no reason for them to do this sort of sponsorship even if they did have the money.

They don't sell direct to consumers -- they sell a feature which carriers can turn on. No-one knows or cares who Dubber is -- they have a phone service with Optus or Telstra or BT or whoever which also happens to offer call recording if they want to pay for it. (Though apparently not many people do...)

And on top of that, "Dubber" is a truly awful brand name. Plastering it on your building and on helmets doesn't make it less awful.
