A bit of self education I thought I would share, although many here are already on top of this
A quick summary of the product changes from Dubbo 2013 and the changes proposed by Dubbo 2022 currently being assessed by NSW planners;
Dubbo 2013
The products of 2013 below would seem to include Zirconia (ZrO2), ZBC (Zirconia Basic Carbonate), both Nb2O5 and FeNb, then a wide range of HREE and LREE products (concentrates or oxides?)
Dubbo 2022
There are substantial changes in the 2022 flowsheet - see below;
- ZrO2 remains
- No ZBC but further processing instead to produce higher value de-hafniated Zirconia (DHZ) and Hafnia (HfO2)
- No more Nb2O5 but processing all into higher margin FeNb
- A substantial reduction in range of HREE/LREE products
- dropping Yttrium, Gadolinium, Europium, Lanthanum, Cerium and Samarium
- to just leave Neodymium/Praesodymium (heading to KMP), Terbium and Dysprosium
