My parents gave me a rifle when I was about eight or nine years of age and it was my job to shoot the birds off the fruit trees. The cats used to grab them as soon as they fell.
One day I shot a magpie, but it just wouldn't die, so I shot it again and again. It was looking me straight in the eye, but I knew I had to finish the 'job'. That was the last time I ever used a gun.
This is why drones used by the US are so evil. A soldier should have to look the other guy in the eye.
