Who would build diesel subs this day and age - they obviously obsolete, since they can't compete with a nuclear sub in speed, range, displacement, service life, or time submerged.
Australia needs to grow a pair and go nuclear. Its totally self-sufficient in uranium and in waste disposal.
Australia also needs to develop tactical battlefield nuclear weapons. Those Indos to the north will be looking at Australia over the next few decades.
