Yeh I understand this point. It will be a big show of security and trust if they pay it. I just don't want to be scrambling to buy shares after that point, nice to be able to buy them tomorrow while there are still lots of twitchy people around. If no divi comes it would not change my investment decision. Especially as the SP will likely increase in anticipation of the announcement. Plus of course if they do release a divi then I want to be in to receive it - will pay all my brokerage fees and foreign currency transfer margins plus some. Look forward to those audited accounts for sure.
