I know the focus at Archer is to get a qubit that works sufficiently well at “room temperature”. Currently they have told us the coherence time is about 230 nanoseconds?
I don’t know if that is sufficient for the “room temperature” goal or if they need longer.
Would any of the tech gurus care to guess?
That wasn’t my Dumb Question, though.
That is: “If the Archer Qubit was cooled down, how much would the coherence time extend (if it did)?”
We know that some quantum computers such as IBM, Google etc are cooled right down to almost absolute zero. That is expensive to do. But maybe Archer’s qubits would work really well if cooled just to the temp of liquid nitrogen or CO2. That would be a LOT cheaper to attain.
Again, would any of the tech experts care to comment?
(I’d like to ask Mohammed himself but no-one at Archer answers email enquiries.)
