The impact of a US recession, while significant, will have less an impact than in previous history. The post war glory days are over as there is a rebalancing of wealth which is now less concentrated there.
Gold should do better in US$ terms and there will be spikes along the way that is the nature of any market taking into account human behaviour. We may see some hysteria in the future similar to the runs in the 70's/80's. There may even be a couple of Poseidon's along the way
It's amazing, having watched the EXM forum for a while to see the amount of BS and pretenders here. It goes to show you that you read and take advice from these forums at your own peril.
As for me I have got in after sitting in the sub 4 level for a while and will probably average down a little on a pure spec play. I have learnt over time that you can't trust the companies to give fair objective opinion about themselves and you certainly can't trust all the comments here on HC.
It's all about the learning and risk mitigation.
