''If Libs actually had a policy for cost of living ''

it is difficult to have a substantial cost of living policy in Oz that would be even slightly saleable - why?

because the vast bulk of pain in Oz from cost of living comes from the cost of housing

sure, for those who have mortgage free home ownership, there are other COL pressures, - energy, insurance, food etc

but the real pain is for renters etc - and the cost of housing

and for that ---------- every idea that's got any guts to it - is like pulling teeth without aesthetic

it's a giant multi tooth extraction needed because of years of neglect, bad decisions and 'ignore it and it'll go away hopefully'

it would take huge political moves - which are possible - but, not saleable ------- any such big moves would see a sitting government ejected and if an opposition had such policies - they would never get a chance at a run

so for Oz - it's buggered if you do and buggered if you don't

    game over
