Yes, at a time of "price of living crisis" talk I'd expect a bigger swing. Presumably those affected aren't blaming the Government so maybe they blame another entity like "the supermarkets" or other corporates.
Before the by-election I heard Peta Credlin comment on feedback from people on the ground who were handing out how to vote cards at pre-polls.
They said people were polite which she saw as a lack of anger in the electorate. No anger=average by-election swing.
