It was a safe seat. If it is not a safe seat than 60 of the 151 seats would be marginal seats and up for grabs at every election.
if it wasn’t a safe seat, the average anti-government swing at a by election would have seen them lose the seat.
If it wasn’t a safe seat, and the coalition achieved bang on the average by election result… then why didn’t the seat fall?
I’ll give you a hint… anyone with an IQ greater than the ambient room temperature can figure out that at a margin of 6.3% it was a safe seat
