py - I think you underestimate how smart the chinese are. do you honestly think they are going to do all the hard work of getting the conventions signed off to see SDL whisked away under their noses by a counter-offer?

I am almost certain that the conventions and permits will have strict change of ownership clauses attached ie the relevant governments will require to approve any future changes in ownership of SDL much like BHP and RIO's State Agreements (the equivalent of the mining conventions) require BHP or RIO to obtain state aproval for any change of ownership (hence the issues with the proposed BHP/RIO iron ore JV).

To all those who are expecting mining conventions will trigger a counter-offer I say BEWARE - the chinese are smarter than that.
