    I see what you mean but it all depends on what the expectations were. If results are not as bad as expected, but are still bad resulted, share price gets a kick up in the land where the sun don't shine.

    Conversely if results are good but not as good as expected, the SP gets hammered down.

    Case in point QBE and WOW had reasonably good earnings to report but they missed expectations hence the sell offs.

    Another example. When ANZ and NAB announced cuts to their dividenc, while this would be a bad thing, actually gave their share prices a kick up as the market had expected an even worse divie cut.
