One thing which has to be kept in mind is that the patients we were treating in the first cohort were exceptionally sick, were in an exceptionally bad way. Mr Paterson made reference to this in an interview with Alan Kohler and said that such was their condition that they wouldn't have been included in a normal regulatory TAVR trial....
So this now puts the comparative stats in a new light.... we are not comparing apples and apples. If my reasoning is correct we are comparing the stats from AVR DurAVR patients who would not have ever been included in a standard regulatory TAVR trial to those that were. If I'm correct, this is quite an amazing feat from The DurAVR.
When treating otherwise healthy/younger patients I would expect to see those EOA and MPG (mmHg) stats indicating (the effective orifice area and blood pressure) to be even better and even more superior to the competition.
