Amazingly important interview with Dr Michael Reardon, many gems..... interesting to then combine what he says in this interview with what Mr Paterson said in his recent Proactive interview. It's my theory that when all the data is released, when the dust settles, cardiac surgeons who perform TAVR operations will ALL gravitate towards the DurAVR and that the DurAVR will take (to a rounding error) the ENTIRE TAVR market in which it is available..... I just cannot see any other realistic alternative, providing results continue proving as conclusive as they have been.

In the interview Dr Michael Reardon comments (emphasis my own,)

"With new tissue science and designs, we're going to be able to show better and better durability, and it may be that we get down to younger and younger Tissue Valves and younger and younger TAVI's, that would not be a surprise to me if we can start showing durability and design valves which are designed to have a second valve put into them so that we can give a life time of non surgery....."

"We've also created a new surgical disease, and. that's going to be the TAVR explant surgical valve..... surgeons will now have to learn the redo surgical valve."

From the Proactive interview with Mr Paterson, Mr Paterson comments (emphasis my own,)

"we are working with the tier 1 of the tier 1 of physicians in this space globally.... as it turns out about 30% of patients are having their first replacement valve FAIL within about 3-8 years.... some physicians say that 40-50% of patients will need a valve in valve replacement..... ONE OF THE HIGHEST PHYSICIANS OUT THERE WHO HAS TALKED ABOUT THIS PUBLICLY SHE SAID THAT THIS (DURAVR) WOULD 100% BE USED FOR EVERY SINGLE PATIENT WHO NEEDED VALVE IN VALVE."
