Read it myself...took me a lot longer than 7 hours. Brief synopsis....most of it a fairly repetitive long-winded pinching of the old testament - with plenty of medieval Arab mores thrown in for crowd control. Supposed to be the word of God transmitted to Mohammed, but there are three writing styles in the Koran. God wasn't very consistent. The last part is an interesting collection of short surah's (chapters) that were fairly poetic and nothing like the rest of the book...The one I read was a translation by an Indian named Abdullah Yusuf Ali or something like that...did a very good job of it too with plenty of explanatory footnotes.
Wasn't that impressed overall....but worth a read to learn about the religion. I personally thought it was a tactical creation by Mohammed.
