Well you either have a hell of a size system, use bugger all energy and/or are on a high feed in tarrif. I have a 5kW system which I have had for nearly 10 years and yes it has paid for itself but so much of the energy gets exported out at 5c/kW and we have to buy it back at high market rates. Home batteries are still not there yet economics wise.
