Allowing solar and wind to intermittently disrupt coal fired generators is nuts.
Expensive steam is released to atmosphere to allow wind/solar in.
In Victoria my supplier Red Energy is 31c KWH
in Cairns, Ergon charges 30.5c KWH.
It is not the price of unreliable renewables it is the cost of disruption
across the whole of Australia.
