Self remembers still the last hanging in Australia was when Ronald Ryan was hanged in Pentridge (Vic) at 8am on 3 February 1967.

Self believes is better they be incarcerated for their entire life than they be executed.
Since then enough who otherwise may have been executed were later found to be innocent.
