Not sure he has thought this one through .

He's only going to build " some nuclear for firming ".

Let's make this clear. He is only proposing to build some nuclear and the rest will be renewables in order to get to net zero by 2050. That means that after 2050 there will be no fossil fuel burning apparently. ln the interim he wants to burn coal and gas .

So he is committing to some nuclear for 80 to 100 years and the rest will be renewables.

l repeat . Not 100% nuclear . Watch his speech below for confirmation.

Given that the east coast grid is already at 40% renewable and continues at it's current rate, it will be around 82 % by 2030.

So even if the Dud were to win the next election, renewables which he endorses will have filled the gap long before the first nuke is built .

Or is he deliberately going to stop the renewable rollout and burn more coal and gas while he waits for nuclear to catch up ????

He talks about the cost of renewables and transmission lines as one of the reasons to go with nuclear and yet the future Dutton system is still going to have a significant amount off renewables in it.

He doesn't believe in the renewable plus storage system . His words.

So really he just doesn't believe in energy storage . That's it. He has already committed to renewables .

" labor has promised 28k of new transmission ".

That is a false statement .

However because Dutton has admitted that he will use renewables then obviously he will need to build new transmission lines for them . That's a bit awkward .

Poor old Peter. Once again the back room boys have whispered in his ear and his ego has taken the bait.

    Bye bye Peter.
