Yesterday Dutton came out and called for a ban on anymore immigration from Gaza due to concerns re potential HAMAS terrorists etc coming into the country. Its pretty damn clear that the majority of Australians are against immigration at current levels and want to see it wound right back. The reasons are many and varied but there is a clear view that for many it is linked to the cost of living/housing/essential services crisis currently hitting the country.

As expected the left wing media and their shrills (hello Ms Steggall) are calling him a racist. The media will attack him relentlessly. Most liberal leaders have caved into the left, backed off or reversed their comments. Dutton must stand his grand, be prepared to take the attacks and continue to push to cut immigration. The media is rabid and they will spread his message to the electorate, for free! It will be greatest free kick he can get. And the more it starts to be accepted as good policy, the harder the media will go.

There is a history with using the media to push your agenda and win. In the 2016 election in the USA the media thought Trump was mad re building a wall, the screamed it out loud, problem was a lot of Americans agreed and voted accordingly. They did not make that mistake in 2020.

The left let emotion rule them, push their buttons in the right spots and they will do the work for you.
