"an Islamic terrorist attack is our worst threat" . ....... and the more we isolate, ostracise and vilify Muslims the greater the resentment and so the more likely such threats can become reality. the key problem here is that aggression provokes defensive reactions - as the Israeli reaction to Hamas' aggression demonstrates.expectations of others increases the risk. so we can expect Muslim states to react badly. I'm amazed at Iran's patience with aggressive Israel. 2 weeks after Israel fired off missiles into the Iran embassy in Syria they've finally issued a warning to Israel. this is reality. but Dud was trying a false analogy. a fake equivalence. yes Howard showed tremendous strength and courage facing up to the shooters. but this is what any leader (pre-Abbott) would have done in the circumstances. what would Dud do? the protests by Jews and Palestinians after the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel required the PM to sit back and follow events as they unfolded. nothing to do with Aus and requiring an informed act of leadership when the info was complete. but this was such a rapid reaction from Israel, and given the historical reactions we all knew it wouldn't be long before worse news would be received. would you have preferred that Albanese had reacted violently to quell such protests? but the protests on both sides were peaceful despite the anger. NSW police managed the potential crisis very well imo. the fact that Dud has got these two situations conflated shows that he didn't understand leadership at all.

"the more we isolate, ostracise and vilify Muslims" are you the full quid? what we need is a Govt and a PM who ignores all religions equally. At the moment we need a PM who had the balls to tell the Islamic faith in Australia to wind in its neck and try harder to fit in and stop thinking they are somehow special. Bloody sick of them
