as LoP (leader of the opposition) it seems Dutton has hit his highpoint in his career.
it doesn't look like he'll ever be PM
the Lib Plan for their future Govt has so far shaped up to be more outrageous waste of taxpayers money and deeper deficits and debt.
two election promises have been made already:
- rejigging Albanese's tax cuts to gift the wealthy (who don't need tax cuts and won't spend more because they already spend what they need to spend)
- and Govt investment in nuclear energy - Govt funded SMRs
the first will further reduce Govt revenue making it harder for Govt to provide necessary services to the community and repay the debt they incurred during the disastrous 9 years of LibNat lack of planning and profligacy.
the second will result in much higher energy costs for consumers and industries unless the electricity produced is very heavily subsidised. i.e even more deficit/debt.
you'd think the Libs would have learned the lessons of the last 9 years but it seems they reject the very idea that history teaches about mistakes to avoid.
