    but that is 3 years bronc.... businesses going into liquidation didn't happen just because of the Lab govt win. they were already shutting down because of the inflated housing supply prices which caused their estimates of cost of building to become untenable. the housing prices don't apply to new builds and the competition has been very stiff as more people opt for a new build.

    building contractors, according to many reports over decades go though cycles where they go into liquidation and restart when the conditions moderate.

    what was telling about the last 2 years is the large number of builds that were found to have numerous construction flaws as builders tried to cut corner in order to remain profitable. the developer companies went bust for the same reasons as the contractors.

    therefore part of the blame falls to the Morrison govt.
