Car accidents kill 1200 Australians a year.
Domestic violence in Australia in 22/23 killed 34.

How is that a National crisis compared to smoking and car accidents? "

this DV is a stunt to cover, to cloud with smoke
the LABOR party and its many failings''

you are more than likely correct in the perspective of deaths etc

as far as your Labor using the issue as a smoke screen - I think you overlook that this latest flurry of interest - was really generated to such frantic levels by the Bondi stabbing incident where women were killed

somehow - it ignited domestic violence debate to hectic levels

I don't think you can blame Labor for being ingulfed in the intense discussion at the moment - not as the sole participants anyway

DV is real, but it's a very complex area with many factors - not the least of which is that the biggest indicator of all is that both perpetrators and victims ------- will go on to be perpetrators and victims themselves

that's not new ---------- nor are things like that many women AND many men would leave abusive relationships if they had somewhere to go - that was secure, available and affordable - those issues have been around for decades - probably forever

society can change that ------- if it wishes to
