The CD has probably some copy protection on it, which simply sends media player into spazzo mode.
Just need another DVD viewing software to get around it. The one I showed I have used fine all the time, but got it for free when purchasing the motherboard etc.
I am sure other software would do it just as well.
Provided its not made by Microsoft!
