Copper headed for US$4.50/lb, or higher RBC says
Only sustained high copper prices can unlock fresh supply, RBC Capital markets said.
The investment bank is forecasting copper prices of US$4.50/lb from 2025-2027, as production lags rising demand, and warns that this forecast "could be conservative if supply struggles to respond".
US$4.50/lb is already the upper limit of MAC financial forecasts:
SS 2018 DFS base case price assumption was US$2.85/lb which is way below MAC base case of $3.25/lb.
