The daily figures put out by ASIC are only the gross for the day, not the final open position of shorts.
In other words they may have been shorted and covered on the day or any number of combinations.
The graph above is 4 trading days lagging.
So, The day MIN sold out (last Monday late) we should get the open positions data tomorrow after lunch (usually).
The reaction ? well just depends if shorters were able to cover through Bell Potter in that off market cross. Otherwise next Monday will show the short position after the sale (last Tue).
