Someone is going to have to do a lot of explaining to their superiors on the immense stupidity to build a short position on DVP with its prospects and imminent news flow.
I'm thinking a trading desk had a good feeling this was going to test and print a double bottom and expecting to take this out to trigger liquidity to buy the stock back as expectation is that stop losses would have been heavily concentrated somewhere in the $1.70 range.
I think the quarterly albeit containing info we already had known has surprised the market with increased revenue in mining services and ruined this prospect for the trading house.
