At the shareholder vote for the 50c Tianqui scheme only 116m shares in total were voted and was lost 79.5m against /36.6m for. Only 43% of the register bothered to vote at all. And only 13.6% of the whole register voted yes. MIN voted their 52m against and were joined by another 27m. At the time the top 7 ESS shareholders were nominee accounts totalling 34m. So i'm assuming majority insto names in here voted with Chris. My point is that the vast majority of retail holders didn't bother to vote and were happy for the scheme to pass and get taken out at 50c. In these t/o scenario's you can bet that Chris didn't just decide to vote no on his own and risk a yes vote. MIN and their brokers would have been on the phone to all the insto's to get them on his side. So with the current deal being board approved, MIN approved, with same insto's plus new on the register, It's a done deal folks. If 57% of retail were happy to let Tianqui take it at 50c, I can't see this changing materially even if the DVP share price is <3.46. As many DVPeers have said on this thread, the sum of the parts is worth more that $4, and ESS on it's own is going nowhere. Also, DVP is getting shorted hard and started on the day of the announcement. These guys will square up closer to the 12th Oct and close the gap. I think it's a great deal for both companies shareholders.
