1) There is a shortage of raw materials, i.e. copper ore - lower grades, high cost, mine closures
2) There is excess smelter capacity in China with more opening in India
3) Demand for the metal is rising
More smelter chasing the less available ore = high prices.
4) But main reason is DVP not producing copper yet, which is exacerbating the situation
