"sophisticated" investors probably would have sold at least an equivalent sized parcel at higher price (at that time) knowing of the upcoming issue before committing funds at lower issue price
remember - this stock's primary purpose is probably the play thing for "sophisticated" investors who in return now even provide operating capital
or more realistically it is the "non-sophisticated" investor who provides these funds as part of the mechanism for the "sophisticated" investor to suck funds from the "non-sophisticated" investor and pass on a %age of these to the company
