I am in the industry with a few locations under my belt and I can tell you the last 3 months have been the most profitable from my time owning. Is it a way to keep your mind of the dread? a way to treat yourself? or is it the rich are getting richer. Maybe social media means people are more about showing off... One thing I can tell you is spending is up big time.

My venues are indoor and thus arent affected by rain. So yes maybe some locations with big beer gardens etc are more affected by weather.

Hospo was down, impacted.

I'm an investor in a brewery on the east coast, they had their worst quarter just now. Totally out of the ordinary. Mainly due to covid/staffing issues and lack of patronage. They already have bounced back in FY23 according to running numbers since July.

How people in the hospo industry can say there was nothing wrong in the first half of 2022 is beyond me and frankly misleading.
