Beginning of the year, it's a recurring pattern. If you look at stocks that trade within a similar bracket, you'll observe a similar pattern. (I can't cite certain stocks because I hold them and that may be considered cross-promotion). Investors will pump money back into the economy, ofcourse, however there will always be profit takers. That's just the way short-term movements are, they really don't have much of an elaborate explanation. Best you can do is know what you're in for, how long you're in for, and know that if the company's fundamentals have not changed and is on course as planned; stay invested.
