To me it feels more like they are leveraging the market to gain advertising at minimal cost. Being mentioned in the same breath as eBay is surely not a bad thing for any tech company. Most of the general public aren't dissecting these announcements they are just seeing the buzz words or catching a random snippet here or there. Everyone is far too concerned with day to day share price fluctuations and movement around announcements. Trust what you know.
