I give very long odds to Australia successfully exporting beer in any greater numbers (and similar odds re spirits). To illustrate the point Aldi sell Sainte Etienne for $32 a carton of 24. It is brewed by AB InBev in Lille, France on the border of Belgium. It tastes identical to Stella Artois which is brewed in the same facility. I suspect it is the same product. Our local beer prices are not price competitive imo.
We retain some competitive advantage in wine. This advantage is likely diminishing, however, as China ramps up its domestic wine grape agriculture and supports the South African industry as a quality alternative to Australia.
This should not adversely affect DW8 in bringing efficiency to the distribution on product.
